Following an open recruitment process, WCVA is delighted to announce the appointment of Neil Wooding CBE to take on the position of Chair in November 2022.
After eight years of excellent leadership in the role of WCVA’s Chair, Peter Davies will be stepping down in November 2022. To prepare for this we have undertaken an open recruitment process to find a new Chair.
Our search, which was led by Acorn recruitment, led to the unanimous decision to appoint Neil Wooding CBE.
NEIL WOODING CBE
The decision to recruit Neil was based on his extensive experience which aligns with our goals as an organisation as we look to the future.
Neil, who was awarded a CBE for services to social justice and equality, has a wealth of knowledge and experience in equality, diversity and inclusion, digital innovation and improving resilience. All of which are key to our new strategy which will be launched in April.
Neil has held senior positions in UK Government, Welsh Government and has extensive experience as a trustee of several voluntary organisations including Stonewall UK, The Bevan Foundation and The Lloyd’s Bank Foundation Trust.
Neil’s knowledge and experience alongside our diverse and passionate trustee board will be a real asset to WCVA. It will also be an asset to our members as we all face some of the challenges ahead, such as European funding coming to an end, adapting to new ways of working and improving equality for all.
NEXT STEPS
Peter Davies has been instrumental in leading WCVA and the sector and so we wanted to ensure a long hand over period. Peter and Neil will spend time together over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.
Neil will also join WCVA at key events from now until November, with an opportunity for members to join an exclusive members only Q&A panel session with Peter, Neil and our Chief Executive, Ruth Marks at gofod3.
