After sharing practical guidance on the path to net zero at gofod3, Business Development Manager, Kim Page explains how Utility Aid are making switching energy provider easier for small charities.

Following a fantastic session at gofod3 with WCVA, where I had the pleasure of running a workshop on ‘Getting Started on Your Net Zero Journey’ I wanted to reflect on a key challenge that came up repeatedly during the discussion: how difficult it can be for small charities to switch energy providers.

Many small organisations are already stretched thin, focused on service delivery, volunteer coordination, and fundraising. The idea of looking through complex energy tariffs or unfamiliar terminology can make the switch feel overwhelming.

That’s where we want to help.

OUR FREE TOOL FOR COMPARING PROVIDERS

Utility Aid, proud sponsors of gofod3, is committed to making this process simpler. We understand that small charities need practical, time saving tools to support their sustainability goals. That’s why we’ve developed a free Switching Site! This has been designed specifically for the voluntary sector. It allows you to compare providers, understand your options, and make an informed decision quickly and easily.

Switching to a greener tariff is one of the simplest steps a charity can take to reduce its carbon footprint. It also sends a powerful message to funders and supporters: that your organisation is committed to playing its part to reduce its carbon consumption.

A QUICK START TO NET ZERO THAT ALSO SAVES COSTS

During the workshop, we talked about breaking the net zero journey down into manageable steps. Switching your energy supply is a great place to start. It’s low cost and super quick, and can unlock savings that can be reinvested back into your core mission.

We know there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, every organisations journey will look different. But with the right tools and support, no charity should feel left behind.

If you’re unsure where to begin, or just want to explore your options, visit our Switching Site today.
