Whether you’ve just joined or you want a refresher about your membership, here’s a whistle stop tour of how to get the most of being a WCVA member.
GET ACCOUNTS FOR YOUR COLLEAGUES
Members have access to the Members area of our website where you’ll find:
- your personalised list of bookmarked content from WCVA (see below)
- articles and blogs that are exclusively for our members
- links to member benefits and member-only events, and
- information about your membership account
As a member your organisation can have as many individual logins for your account as you need. This allows your colleagues to set up their own username and password (no more emails asking for the login details!) and create a unique list of ‘favourite’ content just for them.
Member organisations can have multiple logins at no extra cost, please get in touch to find out how to set up additional accounts.
BOOKMARK YOUR MOST USED CONTENT FROM WCVA
Exclusively for our members, your member account allows you to ‘favourite’ items on our website that you want quick access to.
When logged in simply use the favourite star to bookmark a page or resource you want to return to. (You can also uncheck the star to remove the page from your list).

Your list of bookmarked content can be found on the Members Area and is unique for your account.

These events are the perfect place to share insight, experiences, spark ideas and build relationships for collaboration.
Some of our member only events include workshops during Trustee’s Week, our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and our Annual Lecture delivered by an exciting and thought-provoking speaker each year.
Details of member only events will be published in the Members Area and in our newsletters (see above).

SHAPE OUR WORK
Our members shape our work and we hope as a WCVA member you will support us in our purpose: to enable voluntary organisations in Wales to make a bigger difference together.
Members have an important role in:
- Electing candidates to our Board of Trustees
- Determining sector reps for the Third Sector Partnership Council
Our Board of Trustees steers the ship and only WCVA members can put forward candidates and vote on which of those candidates sits on the board. We want to make sure our board represents the diversity of the sector in Wales and you can help us by getting involved in board elections.
The Third Sector Partnership Council (TSPC) is a way for voluntary organisations to talk to, and hear from, Welsh Government. It’s made up of representatives of voluntary sector networks working across 25 areas of sector activity. This is a key way of influencing government policy in Wales and raising issues and concerns for the sector. Elections to the TSPC take place every five years, and TSPC reps are elected by WCVA members.
BE PART OF A COLLECTIVE VOICE
We know that two voices are better than one… and so on. Our members’ collective voice and their diverse relationships with the people who can deliver change provides a much more powerful influencing voice. Use the opportunities provided as part of your membership to connect with others in the voluntary sector in Wales so we can make a bigger difference together.
If you want more information about making the most of your membership, or you have any questions, please email membership@wcva.cymru.
