Keegan & Pennykid are sponsoring gofod3 and Account Executive, Garry Dalton tells us what you can expect from the three informative sessions they are hosting during the week.
In an age when there’s a plethora of information at our fingertips (which may or may not be reliable!), and a heightened focus on an organisation’s responsibilities towards their stakeholders (including employees, volunteers, service users and the wider public), it’s vital that we have the right knowledge and tools at our disposal to ensure that we have the best chance of achieving our organisational aims and responsibilities.
With that in mind, gofod3 is the perfect platform for learning and developing for the benefit of us as individuals and our organisations. Whether you have a specific interest or not, you’ll undoubtedly find sessions relevant to you and your organisation at this year’s gofod3. We hope you’ll join us at one (or indeed more!) of the three sessions we’re hosting during the week, which include:
At each of our workshops you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and a better understanding of the topic in hand and with that you’ll hopefully be better placed to understand the risks to your organisation and their impact on you and those reliant on your services. Armed with that vital information, you’ll be better equipped to manage these risks.
RISK MANAGEMENT
Risk management – what you need to know to help protect your organisation
Wednesday 22 June 2022, 12 pm
Turning to our first workshop on Risk Management, this is an in-depth subject and whilst we won’t be able to cover everything in the session, the nuts and bolts of good risk management will be covered, enabling you to tackle real-life areas of risk management back in your organisation. Be in no doubt of the importance of Risk Management, and the need to consider it on an ongoing basis.
CYBER RISKS
What can you do to minimise cyber risks to your organisation?
Thursday 23 June 2022, 12 pm
Our second workshop will delve into the arena of Cyber Risks and the direct or indirect impact cyber-attacks may have on you. What would you do if one of your key suppliers or customers suffered a cyber-attack which meant that they may be unable to maintain services – could you cope with that down time?
If the answer is no, then you’ll need to consider mitigating risk controls. Cyber insurance certainly has a place in providing your organisation with protection in respect of direct cyber risks albeit it is one of several risk controls that you’d want to consider within your overall risk management programme.
TRUSTEE INDEMNITY
Trustee indemnity insurance – know the importance
Tuesday 21 June 2022, 12 pm
Finally, our third and final session is for trustees, managers and other persons who have significant responsibilities in delivering help, support and services. Good governance is essential to the success of an organisation. This session will provide information on the expected standards required of trustees. It will allow you to assess if you are meeting the required standards or whether in fact there are shortcomings that require attention. We shall provide detail on the typical policy cover provisions within a Trustees Indemnity policy.
It’s important to note that where a Trustees Indemnity policy is in place (which we would always generally recommend), it’s not looked upon as a substitute to good governance which is relied upon to respond to any claims or allegations of wrongdoing by trustees.
