Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru

With an increasing number of voluntary organisations and charities recognising the importance of using Welsh in their activities, members of WCVA can take advantage of reduced rates on translation and interpreting services from many members of Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru.

To find a translator or an interpreter who can do this, go to the Association’s website – www.cyfieithwyr.cymru/en/find-a-translator-interpreter – click on ‘Translator’ or ‘Interpreter’ and then scroll down to ‘WCVA offer’. A list of translators/interpreters who have indicated that they can provide a discounted service will appear. It is your responsibility to contact them directly. Discounts will vary. It is for each individual translator/interpreter to decide how much discount to offer.

Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru – the association of Welsh translators and interpreters – is the national association which leads, develops and promotes professional English/Welsh translation and interpreting. It is the only professional association for English/Welsh translators and interpreters. It has three levels of membership: Full and Basic membership for translators and Interpreting membership; as well as a process for recognising translation/interpreting companies. All members commit to the Association’s Code of Professional Conduct.

HSF health plan

HSF health plan is an affordable cash plan and alternative to private medical insurance, offering cover on a range of everyday medical expenses.

This includes money back on optical and dental bills, and over 30 other health related benefits. HSF health plan is the trading company of the registered charity, The Hospital Saturday Fund.

WCVA members can offer HSF health plan as an employer subsidised benefit, whereby they choose the level of cover they would like to pay for their workforce. Employees are able to increase their cover by adding a payment themselves too. Employers can also offer HSF health plan as a voluntary benefit at no cost to them, which will entitle employees to join via payroll deduction at a third sector rate.

As a WCVA member organisation, you will have access to a concession for your employees, which means that a majority of the benefits will be immediate. This can help to empower employees towards obtaining early diagnosis and treatment. They will also be able to utilise additional services including our GP and Counselling lines.
