They will also be expected to submit a completion exercise before being awarded their certificate.

This course aims to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of the principles for Group B safeguarding training.

Content includes:

  • Recognising abuse, neglect, harm and poor practice in the context of safeguarding in Wales
  • Producing a quality record of safeguarding concerns

  • Understanding the law around safeguarding and how to put it into practice throughout their work.

By the end of the course participants should be able to:

  • Recognise the part they play in the safeguarding process
  • Know when, how and who to report a safeguarding concern to
  • Ensure that the individual’s voice is heard within person-centered safeguarding.

Who the session is for

Group B practitioners in all settings, who may be paid staff or volunteers.

Those who spend time with people in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis.
