Safeguarding training for Group B practitioners

Day 1 – 24 March 2026
Day 2 – 31 March 2026
9.30 am – 12.30 pm | Online

Delivered through the medium of English

2 x 3 hour sessions / online

Safeguarding blended learning for Group B practitioners working in any setting or with any age group (generic).

All learners must have completed the Group A module within 3 years of joining this training. They will be required to commit and attend both of the sessions (in the same package) to complete the full 6 hours of the course.

Learners must adequately demonstrate their learning through appropriate participation in course activities before being awarded their certificate.

Aim

This course aims to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of the principles for Group B safeguarding training.

Content  

Content includes:

  • Recognising abuse, neglect, harm and poor practice in the context of safeguarding in Wales
  • Producing a quality record of safeguarding concerns
  • Understanding role of the advocacy in person-centered safeguarding
  • Understanding the law around safeguarding and how to put it into practice throughout their work.

Outcomes

By the end of the course participants should be able to:

  • Recognise the part they play in the safeguarding process
  • Know when, how and who to report a safeguarding concern to
  • Ensure that the individual’s voice is heard within person-centered safeguarding.

Who the session is for

Group B practitioners in all settings, who may be paid staff or volunteers.

Those who spend time with people in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis. They will have a particular responsibility in relation to the people they work with and will need a higher level of knowledge than those in Group A because of their direct involvement with people. The people they work with may or may not present safeguarding concerns.

  • Arrive 5-10 minutes earlyPlease note: there is strictly no late admittance for Safeguarding courses.
  • Keep your camera on and participate via microphone/chat where possible
  • Let us know at the time of booking if you have any access requirements (e.g. BSL interpreter)
