Aim 

This module aims to equip you with the knowledge and tools to attract the right candidates in a cost-effective and inclusive way. 

Content 

This interactive module explores how to make your roles appealing to potential candidates without overspending. You’ll begin by learning how to craft clear, inclusive, and compelling job descriptions that reflect the needs of your organisation and the role. From there, you’ll delve into techniques for writing engaging job adverts that stand out in competitive markets. The module also covers practical strategies for advertising on a budget, including free and low-cost platforms, and introduces how AI can support and streamline your recruitment efforts. 

Learning outcomes

By the end of this module, participants will be able to: 

  • Create job descriptions that reflect role needs and appeal to diverse candidates 
  • Write adverts that stand out and attract the right applicants 
  • Identify budget-friendly advertising platforms and methods 
  • Use AI tools to streamline and enhance recruitment 

Module two: Shortlisting and interviewing

Content 

This interactive module focuses on the key stages of candidate selection and communication. You’ll begin by exploring how to apply fair and consistent shortlisting criteria that align with your organisation’s values and needs. The module then looks at how to communicate clearly and professionally with candidates, ensuring a positive experience for all applicants. You’ll also develop practical interviewing skills to help you assess candidates effectively and make fair decisions. 

Learning outcomes

By the end of this module, participants will be able to: 

  • Apply fair shortlisting criteria and processes 
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with candidates 
  • Conduct effective interviews and make fair decisions

About the trainer

Henry Field has been working in recruitment and HR teams for the past 12 years and has a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management. He’s worked within charities, social care, and private sector companies across multiple sectors and specialisms. Henry’s approach is to keep things simple, accessible, and as cost effective as possible. Since April 2025, Henry has been the founder and director of “HR Field”, an HR consultancy based in Cardiff who specialise in supporting charities and SME’s with their recruitment, HR and EDI needs.

  • Keep your camera on and participate via microphone/chat where possible.
