Aim

To improve understanding of psychological safety as a foundation for inclusive environments, and to equip participants with practical tools and confidence to navigate courageous conversations that promote equity and belonging. 

Course content 

This interactive course explores how to build psychologically safe environments and engage in courageous conversations that support inclusion and equity. 

You will: 

  • Define psychological safety and recognise its impact on group dynamics 
  • Explore barriers and benefits to courageous conversations 
  • Learn tools to address microaggressions, privilege, and impact vs intent 
  • Use the Courageous Compass to plan, hold, and reflect on meaningful conversations 

Learning outcomes 

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 

  • Identify and foster psychologically safe environments in their social or professional groups
  • Plan, participate in, and reflect on courageous conversations using the Courageous Compass. These conversations may include: 
    • Challenging microaggressions 
    • Raising awareness of privilege 
    • Navigating the nuances of impact vs intent

  • Arrive 5-10 minutes early – late arrivals may not be admitted.
  • Keep your camera on and participate via microphone/chat where possible.
  • Let us know at the time of booking if you have any access requirements (e.g. BSL interpreter).
