Aim
In partnership with Macmillan Cancer Care, we have designed this course to help you signpost people efficiently and effectively to cancer services which are available in their community.
Content
Significant research in communities across Wales has found that many people are unaware of the cancer information and support services which are available for them and family members at point of diagnosis.
Working in partnership with Macmillan, we are making professionals in the community aware of the resources available, so if any of their service users need support they know where to send them. These individuals will be known as Macmillan Information Champions. This programme is initially being trialled in the Cardiff and Vale Health Board and Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board areas.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course participants will be aware of the cancer services which are available within their community to signpost people efficiently and effectively.
Who the course is for?
This course is for individuals working with people in a community setting within Cardiff and The Vale Health board and Betsi Cadwaladr Health board areas.
