WCVA hosts a wide range of events each year from gofod3, our annual flagship event for the sector, to our annual lecture.

We also run a series of regional events across Wales with our County Voluntary Council (CVC) partners, Third Sector Support Wales as well as attending the National Eisteddfod to showcase the great work of charities in Wales.

Our events

gofod3

gofod3 is an event we organise in collaboration with the voluntary sector in Wales. Unlike any other event in Wales, it is our space to learn frommotivate and inspire one another. It offers a rare opportunity for the third sector to come together and effect change in Wales.

TSSW Engagement Events

WCVA along with our Third Sector Support Wales (TSSW) partners hold regular free information events looking at topical issues. These regional events are designed to give the audience need-to-know information on topics of importance to the sector and specifically in relation to governance, funding, volunteering, engagement and influencing.

Annual lecture

Our annual lecture is held following our Annual General Meeting and is delivered by high profile speakers from Wales and beyond who are thought leaders and experts in their field. Past lectures have been delivered by Julia Unwin CBE, Prof. Laura McAllister CBE and Jo Youle, and Richard Wyn Jones.

Trustees' Week

Trustees’ Week is an annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference. We celebrate the week by hosting an event on a topic of relevance to Chairs and Trustees. Previous events have looked at the relationship between a Chair and a Chief Executive, the challenges that Chairs face in their role and creating a positive board culture. In 2022 Trustees’ Week will take place between 7 and 11 November.

National Eisteddfod

In August of each year, we have a stand at the National Eisteddfod, Wales’ largest celebration of culture and language. We showcase the breadth of the charity sector in Wales by inviting charities to join us on our stand and run activities throughout the week. If you would like to join us at the next Eisteddfod, get in touch!

The Welsh Charity Awards

The Welsh Charity Awards are brand new Awards for 2019, organised by WCVA. They recognise and celebrate the fantastic contribution charities, community groups, not-for-profits and volunteers make to Wales.  From befrienders dropping in to visit their older neighbour every Tuesday, to organisations campaigning for nation-wide equality, the Awards highlight and champion the positive difference we can make to each other’s lives.
