Safeguarding Manager
Having worked in many aspects of social care in England, Suzanne has spent the 20 years she has lived in Wales working almost entirely in the voluntary sector.
Suzanne joined DVSC (Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council) to fulfil the role of Children and Young Person Partnership Liaison Officer in 2006. Here she contributed to a successful NSPCC Safer Communities project in partnership with the local Safeguarding Board. This ignited her passion for safeguarding and in particular for delivering safeguarding training. Operating ‘Suzanne Says’ as an independent training company several years later gave Suzanne lots of practice in this area!
Suzanne joined the Criminal Records Bureau at WCVA in 2012 to develop the Safeguarding Service and working alongside a team with such expertise in DBS guidance gave Suzanne a whole new area of knowledge.
In her current role Suzanne enjoys providing training and guidance for the voluntary sector on all things safeguarding. You’ll find top tips and guidance that Suzanne has written over on our Safeguarding and protecting people page, and visit our training section to find more about the training we offer.
Suzanne also collaborated extensively with Social Care Wales, having recently contributed to work around the Wales Safeguarding Procedures (she hopes you have downloaded the app: www.safeguarding.wales).
Suzanne enjoys the Welsh coast and hills, walking and cycling, when the weather allows!
