Simon is Wales Representative for the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), an organisation seeking to ensure markets work well for consumers and business across the UK. In this role, working with other consumer bodies, Simon helps ensure Welsh consumer interests and concerns are listened to and acted upon.
Prior to this Simon was Wales Director for Business in the Community which aims to improve business social responsibility through its education, environment and workforce programmes.
Simon’s passion for social responsibility was developed from his 18 years at the Wales Co-operative Centre, having been its Chief Executive for seven years delivering co-op and social enterprise project support. Simon chaired the Social Enterprise Network for ten years and was a member of the Ministerial Advisory Group on Social Enterprise.
Simon is Vice Chair of WCVA’s Finance and Risk Committee and Chair of Trustees for Fareshare Cymru, a food distribution charity that helps to tackle food poverty and food waste. Simon is also Chair of WCVA’s Community Investment Fund and Community Asset Loan Fund Panel.
