Assistant Director – Partnerships & Policy
Ross joined WCVA in 2025 and is responsible for driving its work in influencing policy and building strong partnerships that empower Wales’ voluntary sector. This involves strategic oversight of the Third Sector Partnership Council, the Third Sector Scheme and two-way liaison with Welsh Government. Ross is passionate about amplifying the voice of the sector and ensuring policy reflects the realities of those making a difference on the ground.
Ross has experience across the public, private and voluntary sectors, including almost two decades as a local government representative, as well as a stint as Mayor of Maesteg.
Before joining WCVA, Ross spent more than six years as Head of Policy and Public Affairs at Tai Pawb, leading on influencing equalities work across the Welsh housing sector. Before this Ross worked in public relations and grass-roots community development.
Outside of work, Ross is ‘dad’ to Campbell, an unruly French bulldog. When released from dog duties, Ross enjoys supporting community groups – including performing with his local musical theatre society – and is a trustee of a number of local organisations in Maesteg. Ross is also a keen traveller and always on the lookout for a travel bargain!
