Joe is a Graduate Trainee on the All-Wales Public Service Graduate Scheme with Academi Wales, on placement with Bridgend College and Valleys to Coast Housing Association. He is also working toward completing a MSc in Leadership and Governance.

Joe is working with Bridgend College to identify and interrogate the skills needed for learners to support the decarbonisation agenda. With Valleys to Coast Housing he is highlighting and facilitating the support needed for home-owners and other stakeholders to implement sustainable retro-fit in social housing and beyond.

At Diverse Cymru, a charity working across the protected characteristics in Wales, Joe led communications for the organisation, putting structure in place and developing and implementing strategy.

Joe is passionate about engaging people in real and meaningful ways, and is experienced in working with and for youth voice. He believes strongly that charities who seek to work with young people must engage young people in their governance structures!

Joe has talked nationally at conferences and written dozens of blogs and journals on the value of youth voice and youth engagement at all levels. Joe has also worked on the Votes@16 campaign. Joe is the Vice-Chair of the Volunteering Wales Project Board.

Outside of work, Joe spends most of his time being adventurous with his cooking, sampling new whisky, and recording music. Before discovering cooking, he was a runner.
