Fran is currently independent Chair of the Welsh Government’s National Advice Network having retired in February 2019 as the Director for Citizens Advice Cymru. Fran has been associated with Citizens Advice since 1978 when she started as a volunteer adviser, and was appointed Director of Citizens Advice Cymru in 2000, responsible for Citizens Advice services across Wales. Citizens Advice provides free, confidential and independent advice to help people overcome their problems and is a voice for our clients and consumers on the issues that matter to them. Citizens Advice Cymru values diversity, champions equality and challenge discrimination.
As well as sitting on the Wales Council for Voluntary Action Board, before her retirement Fran represented the Advice and Advocacy sector on the Third Sector Partnership Council and chaired the Wales Independent Advice Providers Forum. She is a member of the Bevan Commission, advising Welsh Ministers on health and social care and has been a member of a range of Welsh Government and other public sector advisory boards.
