Head of Support
Since discovering a love of charity work through her involvement in Swansea University’s RAG Society, Alison has worked in a variety of voluntary (and voluntary sector-adjacent) organisations.
Alison originally joined WCVA in 2019 following previous roles at Cardiff Third Sector Council and Chartered Institute of Fundraising Cymru. She spent over three years as Sustainable Funding Manager before being appointed to the role of Head of Support in 2023. Alison is proud to lead our passionate and expert Support Team, overseeing the delivery of our key support projects and services that help organisations in Wales thrive across the topics of governance, safeguarding, digital, volunteering and funding & fundraising.
Having now lived over half her life in Wales, Alison is very passionate about the voluntary sector in Wales, helping it to develop and become more sustainable and ensuring that Wales is not forgotten in UK-wide sector conversations.
She is a trustee at Fair Treatment for Women of Wales and through her role at WCVA, is Vice Chair of the Funding and Compliance Sub-committee of the Third Sector Partnership Scheme.
In her own time, Alison is a Run Director for Trelai Park parkrun, runs half marathons, travels, crochets blankets and watches ‘too much’ television.
