Our good friends at Social Investment Scotland (SIS) are again running this ever-popular event, this time in an online format, open to all established social enterprises, not just those in Scotland.

The SIS Retail Academy helps social enterprises navigate changing markets.

This year, leading responsible finance provider, Social Investment Scotland (SIS) is taking its Retail Academy 2020 online, to support product and service-based social enterprises to navigate the complexities of selling goods and services amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The programme is now open for applications and is geared towards Scottish social enterprises and entrepreneurs looking to reach a larger customer base, diversify and adapt to the changing commercial landscape, particularly ahead of the peak Christmas period.

The Retail Academy, delivered in partnership with Asda and with support from the Scottish Government, combines four days of interactive workshops by retail experts.  The programme will cover topics such as digital retail and upcoming trends with speakers offering valuable advice and guidance on how to adapt to an ever-changing commercial landscape.

If your social enterprise is involved in retailing either as a product supplier or running your own outlet there will be something to learn from a full programme. This includes a session from Margaret McSorley Walker, one of the UK’s leading experts in consumer buying behaviour and retail trend strategy.

The academy will take place 27-30 October 2020.

HOW DO WELSH ORGANISATIONS GET INVOLVED?

For social enterprises outside of Scotland there is a charge of £86 + VAT per participant.

If you would like to attend, please email sic@wcva.cymru before 10 October 2020 with your contact details together with a brief summary of the retail aspects of your business.
