Social Leaders Cymru courses are offering development opportunities for leaders in the voluntary sector, whatever stage you’re at in your leadership journey.
Social Leaders Cymru has been created to support leaders to make a positive difference in their communities. This programme, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, is delivered by Cwmpas in partnership with Clore Social Leadership, and WCVA. It is designed to expand your existing skills as a leader to become more confident, empowered and resilient.
Here’s what’s coming up on the Social Leaders Cymru programme.
CONNECT AND COLLABORATE: LEADERSHIP UNDER PRESSURE
The theme of these regional events is Leadership Under Pressure and how to sustain the important work of social change, when social leaders in Wales are dealing with pressures on many fronts. These include the outcome of the recent elections and uncertainty around funding streams as we enter a new period of government for Wales.
The events are open to leaders from voluntary, community, social enterprise, public and private sectors who want to foster cross collaboration connections.
Whether you are new to leadership or an experienced leader, this event is for you.
What to expect
- Inspiration: Learn about promoting a balanced approach to work can have a positive impact on workplace culture
- Insight: Learn from experienced social purpose leaders about the importance of finding the time and space to support your own wellbeing to help sustain your organisation’s important work

UNPACKING LEADERSHIP
Social Leaders Cymru hosted a thought provoking session to reflect on Leadership and unpack what this means in practice for leaders working in the social sector in Wales today.
Guest speaker, Owain Smolović Jones, professor of organisation studies at Durham University unpacked the ‘5Ps’ model of leadership: person, product, process, position, and Purpose with real life examples and practical application.
