There are plenty of reasons to join us at WCVA. We offer flexible ways of working and a wide range of benefits, but most importantly, you’ll be part of something meaningful helping to make a positive difference across Wales.

We know our people are our greatest strength. That’s why we work hard to create a place where everyone feels safe, respected and supported to thrive.

Wellbeing, fairness and inclusion aren’t just things we talk about, they shape how we design our work and how we approach recruitment.

Make a bigger difference

WCVA is a great place to start or grow your career in the voluntary sector in Wales. You’ll gain a unique insight into the vital work happening across the country and play a part in strengthening and supporting the sector.

Whether you’re supporting organisations, influencing policy, or sharing stories of change, your work will help make a real difference.

Creating an inclusive workplace

We want everyone to feel they can apply and thrive here. We focus on removing barriers rather than expecting people to fit a set way of working. This shapes how we design our roles, approach recruitment and support people day to day. We know that people’s needs are different, so we will work with you to make sure you can show your strengths at every stage. We actively encourage applications from disabled people and are committed to creating a workplace where you feel supported, valued and able to do your best work.

Why you’ll love working here

A great place to work and thrive

We’re proud to be certified as a Great Place to Work and to have been recognised in the Great Place to Work UK 2026 list as one of the Best Workplaces for Wellbeing and also for Women. These recognitions reflect our ongoing commitment to creating a culture based on trust, collaboration, respect and wellbeing.

Our commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism

We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone can belong and contribute. We are working to remove barriers to participation and to build a more equitable organisation.

We follow the social model of disability, focusing on removing barriers rather than placing them on individuals. We are also developing our approach to tackling inequality in all its forms, including our work towards becoming an anti-racist organisation.

Accessible and bilingual communication

We want our communications to be clear, welcoming and accessible to as many people as possible. We work in both Welsh and English, and support colleagues to build confidence in the languages and communication skills that help them connect with others, including Welsh and British Sign Language (BSL).

We aim to make our communications as accessible as possible. This includes using clear language and providing accessible formats, as well as considering a range of communication needs. If you require information in a different format or language, we will always do our best to support this where we can.

We are proud to be a bilingual organisation that values and promotes Welsh language and culture. We comply with the Welsh Language Standards and encourage everyone to use their Welsh in day-to-day work.

From informal practice groups to sharing Welsh language resources internally, we support staff at all levels to build confidence and contribute to the goal of one million Welsh speakers by 2050.

We also recognise the importance of British Sign Language (BSL) and are taking steps to strengthen how we support inclusive communication across our work. This includes supporting staff to learn BSL, with some colleagues currently using work time to attend courses.
