We’re seeking a volunteering professional for a maternity cover period on a fixed term or secondment basis for 9-12 months, starting July 2023.

As Volunteering Manager you will be WCVA’s lead for volunteering, working collaboratively with colleagues from across WCVA, and with Third Sector Support Wales (TSSW) colleagues to provide a Wales-wide service. As part of our ‘Support’ Group, you will deliver a programme of information, guidance, learning, events and networks for members and national voluntary organisations.

VOLUNTEERING MANAGER

35 hours per week

£34,304 increasing to £36,199 pro rata per annum

WCVA will contribute 9% of the annual salary into its approved pension scheme.

Base:

WCVA operates a hybrid and flexible working policy which means you can work at our offices or remotely (including at home). We are a pan Wales organisation with office hubs in Aberystwyth, Cardiff and Rhyl. There will be a requirement to attend some specific events and work engagements at our offices and other venues, but most of the time you can choose where you work to fit around your lifestyle.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a volunteering professional with excellent people and communication skills to gain valuable experience of working as part of a Wales-wide team to provide an infrastructure of support for volunteers and volunteer involving organisations.

We are looking for someone with a passion for volunteer led action and experience of working with volunteers and/or volunteer involving organisations and a strong track record of stakeholder engagement.

Some of your main duties will include:

  • Lead the management, development, delivery and reporting of WCVA’s volunteering activities, as part of a Wales wide service with the 19 county voluntary council (CVC) partners, co-ordinating joint work through the facilitation of and secretariat for the Volunteering Practitioner Network
  • Work collaboratively to co-ordinate and manage WCVA’s volunteering information, guidance and resources tools (ie Volunteering Wales website), products (ie Investing in Volunteers), learning and development and guidance, including content for the WCVA website, social media, TSSW Knowledge Hub and volunteering related training programme
  • Facilitate volunteering networks including the Volunteering Wales Network (feeding into the Third Sector Partnership Council and Volunteering Cross Sector Leadership Group), Volunteering Wales Youth Network, Volunteering Practitioner Network

You will also work closely with other WCVA teams and external partners where you’ll get to see all the different and exciting projects that we’re involved in.
