The National Principles for Public Engagement in Wales were created to help organisations carry out consistent and effective public engagement.

NATIONAL PRINCIPLES FOR PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT IN WALES

These Principles were developed by Participation Cymru working with TPAS Cymru, under the guidance of the Participation Cymru partnership. Endorsed by The First Minister of Wales, The Right Hon. Carwyn Jones AM on behalf of the Welsh Government.

What are they? A set of ten principles that aim to guide behaviour and encourage good quality, consistent engagement activity with service users and the general public.

Who are they for? Public service organisations within the Public and voluntary sectors in Wales.

How can they be used? Organisations are asked to endorse these principles at a corporate level. They are then encouraged to develop measurable standards for specific sector or service areas.

The Participation Cymru project ended in July 2018. For any enquiries regarding participation networks, please visit the Co-production Network for Wales website. For relevant training, please check the WCVA Training pages or call the training team on 0300 111 0124.
