Are you looking to try something new, gain new skills, and have some fun? Sounds like you need to think about volunteering!

WHAT DO I DO?

Volunteers get involved in all sorts of exciting activities and projects, helping their communities in lots of different ways. If you’re unsure about the kind of volunteering you’d like to do, why not start by browsing the success stories section of the website to get an idea of what’s available. The amount of time you commit can range from a one-off involvement to a regular commitment of a couple of hours a week (or more if you have the time). You can find out more by reading our information sheet Thinking about volunteering.

VOLUNTEERING WALES

Once you’ve had a think about what you want to do, it’s easy to find a volunteering opportunity to suit your interests, skills and availability. Just go to TSSW’s online volunteering platform Volunteering Wales and have a look at what’s available.

The site is run by Third Sector Support Wales (TSSW) as part of its integrated programme of volunteering support.

The website functions as a volunteer recruitment site for voluntary organisations. The organisations post their volunteering vacancies on the site, and registered users can browse the advertisements until they find something suitable.

The database is accessible by anyone looking to volunteer – just register for free to access the opportunities.

Everyone can volunteer. Your age, background and previous experience don’t matter – there is an opportunity out there to suit you, so keep checking!

VOLUNTEER CENTRES

A volunteer centre offers a one-stop resource for information, advice and guidance on all aspects of volunteering for both volunteers and recruiting organisations.

Volunteer Centre staff aim to link the skills, experiences, time and enthusiasm of local people looking to volunteer with organisations seeking to develop their services.

If you’d prefer to talk to someone who can help you find a suitable placement you can contact or visit your local volunteer centre.
