WCVA is looking for new funding advisory panel members to provide guidance and feedback for our funding schemes. Our funds enable voluntary organisations in Wales to carry out their vital work and positively impact people’s lives in local communities as well as those further afield.
Our independent panel members help us to decide how funding is distributed to ensure the voluntary sector can continue and expand on vital work. Being on a panel wouldn’t take much time out of your calendar but could provide you with valuable experience in charity grant management, networking, and current affairs.
WHO CAN BE A PANEL MEMBER?
Anyone over the age of 18 who is able to give a few hours of their time is eligible! Members are required to read project proposals and attend a panel meeting once or twice a year (scheme dependant). The estimated time commitment is around two days per year.
We are looking for people who are passionate about making a positive difference in Wales. Our panels require members with a wide range of skills to help with our diverse funding opportunities. Whether you’re a community enthusiast, a wildlife expert, or a support worker, there is a funding panel that would benefit from your knowledge.
We recognise the positive value of diversity, we promote equality and we challenge discrimination. We are actively seeking fresh insights, outlooks, and expertise to join our current panellists in providing funding fairly and efficiently.
WHAT WILL YOU GET FROM BEING A PANEL MEMBER?
As well as making a bigger difference to society in Wales, by becoming a panel member you will actively learn and develop your skills and experience in areas such as governance, grant management and risk analysis.
Our panels are also a great way to develop your network by working alongside other volunteer panel members from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
WCVA grant panel positions are voluntary and are therefore unpaid. We understand that not everyone has the same ability to take on unpaid work, however we will do our very best to support any interested individuals to overcome these barriers.
