Have your say on the Code of Fundraising Practice

Published : 18/08/23 | Categories: News |

Join the Fundraising Regulator and WCVA at an in-person event in Cardiff on 20 September 2023 to share your views on changes to the Code of Fundraising Practice.

Next month, the Fundraising Regulator will publish its consultation proposals to update the Code of Fundraising Practice. The Code of Fundraising Practice sets out the standards that apply to fundraising carried out by all charitable institutions and third-party fundraisers in the UK. The code underpins the system of voluntary self-regulation which fundraisers commit to and provides a framework for assessing public complaints.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THESE CHANGES?

The aim of the proposals are to make the code simpler, more accessible and ensure that it is up to date with changes in fundraising policy and practice. Organisations who have an interest in charitable fundraising are invited to hear more about the proposals and provide input and feedback at this in-person event.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT WELSH VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS?

This will be an important opportunity for your organisation to outline some of the challenges unique to the fundraising sector in Wales and provide thoughts on the best practice standards to which it should hold itself accountable. There will also be an opportunity to raise questions directly with the team at the Fundraising Regulator who have led on developing these proposals.

ABOUT THE EVENT

This is one of four events being held across the UK throughout September and October 2023 to gather feedback on these proposals.

A networking lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The event will be held at the Business Centre, next door to the WCVA offices, at One Canal Parade, Dumballs Road, Cardiff, CF10 5BF.
