We know it’s more important than ever that voluntary organisations have the skills and tools they need to find funding and diversify their income.

In 2021/22 WCVA distributed around £29.9m in funding to charities, social enterprises and volunteers in Wales.

In this section you’ll find information on WCVA’s funding schemes, along with everything you need to help you search for and maintain funding for your cause. You can also visit the Funding Wales site to search for opportunities.

New version of the Funding Code of Practice published

On Monday 28 May 2025 Welsh Government published an updated code of practice for funding the third sector.

The Code is a set of principles that, when applied well, ensure good practice in funding voluntary organisations.

The document is for use by Welsh Government grant managers in support of the development and delivery of voluntary sector funding, and for the voluntary sector to understand how they can expect to be funded.

The Code applies to Welsh Government funding, and Welsh Government funding delivered by other public sector organisations, such as local authorities and health boards.

Find out more about the updated code and the next steps.
