We’re celebrating the fifth birthday of our Multi-Purpose Application system (MAP) – here’s how it’s helped us manage and distribute £130 million of grants for voluntary organisations in Wales.
In January 2020 WCVA launched its Multi-Purpose Application system (MAP) to help distribute funds to voluntary organisations in Wales. The system was designed to help organisations big and small access funding in a friendly and more manageable way.
MAP allowed organisations to create a profile and upload standard documents that may be needed across several funding applications to try and reduce the administrative burden of applying for grants.
It also allowed organisations to see the progress of current applications, view historic submissions and keep up with other WCVA grants that may be open and of interest to them.
WHAT HAS FIVE YEARS OF MAP HELP US ACHIEVE?
Since its launch, MAP has seen:
- 3,200 registered organisations
- 4,400 registered users
- 3,250 applications across 17 schemes and 91 rounds.
All this has resulted in over 2,900 awards totalling £130 million in grants and £18 million in match funding.
WHAT WE’VE FUNDED
Through MAP we have funded a wide range of projects that are making a big difference to communities in Wales and beyond. We’ve supported voluntary organisations to:
- Deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic
- Deliver benefits to both Wales and Africa
- Promote and improve volunteering in Wales
- Take action for their local environment
- Maximise their impact and increase their resilience
DO YOU NEED A MAP?
We are constantly updating MAP, improving the user experience and adding new features. One of the upcoming changes is that we are looking into offering a subscription to the system to organisations that distribute their own funds.
This will be especially relevant to those that are looking for a system or an improved system to manage grant applications.
