The Welsh Government is currently consulting on a framework for regional investment for Wales.
The proposal can be found here and sets out the Welsh Government’s thinking on the future of regional investment outside the European Union.
The proposals set out in the consultation are specifically looking at how to invest any replacement funding that comes from UK Government following our withdrawal from the European Union.
While we would encourage all organisations to submit a response to this consultation, WCVA will be submitting a response based on the general views of the third sector.
We will be running a number of virtual engagement events in April to gather the views of the third sector to inform this response.
Webinar: A framework for regional investment consultation
27 April 2020, 2 pm (approx. 1 hour)
Join senior staff from within WCVA and Welsh Government to find out more about the consultation and have a general questions and answers session. The webinar will cover the following:
- General context and overview of the consultation
- Why it is important to Wales and the third sector
- Ways to get involved
Please register here. If you are not able to join the webinar it will be recorded and shared on WCVA’s website after the live event.
Virtual round-table discussions
28 – 30 April 2020
To enable us to facilitate a discussion across the sector, we will be hosting a series of round table discussions with smaller groups looking at specific areas of the consultation. People can participate in as many or as few as they would like to. For further details on what each focus group will cover, please click here.
For us to plan a schedule of these discussions, please register your interest here by 20 April 2020. The final timetable of discussions will be circulated on 22 April 2020.
Survey for written responses

If you would like to provide us with your views but do not wish to participate in the round table discussions, written responses can be submitted here by 13 May 2020. Alternatively, please contact us (3set@wcva.cymru) if you would like to have a 121 call to provide feedback.
